+ Messaging Framework & Launch Narrative

Brief

Launch a new paid IP and drive awareness, engagement, and purchase intent at scale. Target: 3.6M units across PS5 and PC in the first 12 months.

Insight

In a saturated shooter market, 4:Loop could easily be reduced to “another sci-fi co-op game.” Developer talent signals complicated matters further. Bad Robot suggested prestige narrative. Mike Booth suggested Left 4 Dead lineage. Neither fully captured the product, and in a market full of choice, ambiguity would cost sales. What defined the game was not genre or pedigree, but a tension at its core: the end of the world, with endless chances to prevent it.

Solution

“Fail To Save The World.” A platform that anchored the launch narrative and made the contradiction unmistakable. The line turned failure into the hook, signalling tone immediately: high stakes, low punishment. Approachable on entry yet deep on return. In a crowded category, clarity became the differentiator.
